Among the most meaningful moments was honoring Virginia Roberts Giuffre, whose courage changed the course of history and showed survivors everywhere that they could come forward, be believed, and know they are not alone. In that same spirit, we advanced federal anti-trafficking policy on Capitol Hill, made the case for a demand-side response to sex trafficking, celebrated a Maine legislative victory that advances the Survivor Model, and continued pushing for change across the country.<br>

I am also proud to share that my co-founder Rachel Foster and I were named to TIME's 100 Most Influential People of 2026. This recognition belongs to the survivors at the center of this work.<br>

** A message from WorldWE Co-Founder and CEO, Lauren Hersh:

Survivor leadership is the powerful force that turns hardship into action. We see the maxim "courage is contagious" in the remarkable advocacy of survivors everywhere.
That leadership showed up in every aspect of our work this month. Among the most meaningful moments was honoring Virginia Roberts Giuffre, whose courage changed the course of history and showed survivors everywhere that they could come forward, be believed, and know they are not alone. Her legacy is present in everything we do.
In that same spirit, we advanced federal anti-trafficking policy on Capitol Hill, made the case for a demand-side response to sex trafficking, celebrated a Maine legislative victory that advances the Survivor Model, and continued pushing for change across the country.
I am also proud to share that my co-founder Rachel Foster and I were named to TIME's 100 Most Influential People of 2026. This recognition belongs to the survivors at the center of this work.

WorldWE In Action: April Highlights
WorldWE Co-Founders Lauren Hersh and Rachel Foster were named to TIME's 100 Most Influential People of 2026 (https://time.com/collection/100-most-influential-people/2026/lauren-hersh-and-rachel-foster/) , recognized for their advocacy and organizing work alongside the survivor community to demand accountability for those who used wealth and power to exploit over 1,000 women and girls. When asked what gives them hope, they didn't hesitate: the survivors. This recognition belongs to them.
WorldWE gathered alongside survivors, advocates, and partners to honor Virginia Roberts Giuffre and reflect on the impact she had on survivors around the world. We are grateful to everyone who joined us in remembrance and solidarity.
WorldWE and our partners celebrated a legislative victory in Maine as Governor Mills signed LD 2168 into law. The legislation holds sex buyers accountable through fines directed to victim services and advances the Survivor Model by reinvesting directly into survivor support.
Policy Associate Bella Peracchi joined Members of Congress, advocates, and survivor leaders at the Anti-Trafficking In Persons (ATIP) Roundtable on Capitol Hill. The bipartisan convening focused on advancing federal anti-trafficking policy centered on prevention, protection, policy, and prosecution.
Policy & Education Manager Dahlia Locke joined survivors, lawmakers, and advocates at a Congressional roundtable hosted by Rep. Ro Khanna to advocate for a demand-side response to sex trafficking and discuss the forthcoming Sex Trafficking Demand Reduction Act.
We joined families on Capitol Hill for a vigil hosted by the HEAT Initiative alongside partners including Rights4Girls and the National Center on Sexual Exploitation. The action called for stronger protections for children online and greater accountability from Big Tech for enabling environments where exploitation can occur.
Policy Director Becca Zipkin traveled to Albany alongside coalition partners to advance A9214/S8609, legislation that would close a dangerous loophole allowing adults who purchase sex from minors to face only minimal consequences. The bill would recognize minors as victims of sex trafficking and place accountability where it belongs: on the buyers.
