Did you hear that just now? It was a huge sigh of relief echoing out from Cupertino, because Allison Johnson brings good news: the new Siri AI <em>works</em>. Granted, it's a low bar. But it's one Apple couldn't clear two years ago, so this is real progress. Few of the new AI features are groundbreaking; mostly the new Siri feels like Gemini did a year ago. But it's real, it works, and now Apple can get started on trying to make its AI better than everyone else's — so long as you don't live in the EU.

Tuesday’s Nintendo Direct showcase felt like an important moment for the company. With the Switch 2 heading into its second holiday season, one in which the hardware will be even more expensive thanks to a price hike, it was a chance for Nintendo to really sell new audiences on its latest console — but that’s not exactly what happened.
