Memo: Team Lunch Ideas
From: Sam
To: Dev Team
Date: Wednesday, 3:15 PM

Hey everyone,
Just thinking ahead for next week's lunch. Wanted to gather some ideas.
I was at the market and saw some great looking seasonal produce.
Maybe we could do a build-your-own bowl day?

Options could include:
- Quinoa or brown rice base
- Roasted sweet potatoes and broccoli
- Black beans or chickpeas
- A couple of protein choices like grilled chicken or tofu
- An assortment of sauces: a cilantro lime, a tahini, maybe a spicy peanut
- Toppings: avocado, pickled onions, sesame seeds

Let me know if that sounds good or if you have other cravings.
I remember last month someone mentioned missing the Thai place we used to order from.
We could also consider a sandwich platter from that new bakery on 5th.
Their sourdough is supposed to be excellent.

On a separate note, I tried a new method for meal prepping last weekend.
Instead of cooking everything on Sunday, I did a big chop of vegetables and pre-marinated the proteins.
Then each evening it took about 20 minutes to throw a sheet pan dinner together.
It felt less repetitive than eating the same meal four days in a row.
The key was having the marinades ready in jars.
One was just olive oil, lemon, garlic, and herbs.
Another was a mix of soy sauce, a little honey, and ginger.

My partner made a fantastic soup on Monday with leftover roasted vegetables.
Just added some vegetable broth and blended it smooth.
Served with a dollop of yogurt and some crusty bread.
It was a good reminder to use what we have.

What is everyone else cooking lately?
Alex, I recall you were experimenting with different chili recipes.
Did you settle on a favorite combination of beans and spices?

Jamie mentioned trying to bake more bread at home.
How is that going I've always found the timing tricky with the rises.

Back to lunch planning—please send any preferences or ideas by Friday.
I'll compile and put in the order.
Also, don't forget about the department meeting at 11 AM tomorrow.
We'll be reviewing the Q3 project timelines.

Thanks,
Sam

PS: The office coffee supply is getting low. I'll restock the medium roast pods today.
Let me know if anyone wants a different type added to the next order.

---

Reply from Morgan:
Sam, bowls sound perfect. I'm in for the tofu option.
The sandwich idea is also good for a future week.
My recent cooking win was a simple pasta with roasted cherry tomatoes and garlic.
Used whole wheat spaghetti. It was fast and required only one pan for the sauce.

Reply from Taylor:
Agreed on the bowls. Could we have a crunchy element like toasted nuts or seeds?
I've been making a lot of stir-fries with whatever greens are in the fridge.
A quick sauce of soy, rice vinegar, and a bit of cornstarch makes it feel like a proper meal.
Bread baking is a work in progress. My last loaf was dense but tasty.

Reply from Casey:
Any option for a dairy-free sauce The tahini works for me.
I've been using my slow cooker a lot for beans from scratch.
So much better than canned, and you can freeze portions.
For the chili experiments, I liked the version with black beans and sweet potato.
Used smoked paprika and a little cocoa powder. It was a hit.

End of thread.
