EVERYWHERE the monks showed up, SO DID Americans! NOT the swastika-wearing, rebel-flag waving HYPOCRITS on the Right, but the TRUE Americans, compassionate, thoughtful, and embracing the POSSIBILITIES of a different culture and thoughts, to complete a journey with only ONE mantra
“Today I will have a PEACEFUL DAY”
Buddhism is NOT a religion, they worship NO gods. They believe that inside EACH person is the goodness and will power to change the world for the better, and EACH morning, they wake up with ONE thought, “Today is my peaceful day”.
Simple, yet effective. They give what THEY can, and only receive what THEY need to complete their task. They ASK for nothing but an open mind and soul, to receive wisdom brought down for LONGER than Christ.
Buddhism is approximately 2,500 years old, originating in India around the 6th to 5th century BCE. It was founded by Siddhartha Gautama—the Buddha—who taught the path to enlightenment (nirvana) after his awakening. The religion is based on teachings regarding the cessation of suffering and reincarnation.
Key details about the age and origin of Buddhism include:
Origin Era: It emerged in the 6th or 5th century BCE, with some traditions placing the Buddha’s life around 563–483 BCE.
Founder: Siddhartha Gautama, a prince who left his life of privilege to seek answers to human suffering.
Historical Context: It began in the eastern Gangetic plain of India.
Spread: It grew from a regional tradition into a major world religion, heavily influencing culture across Asia and later the West.
The religion is characterized by its focus on meditation, morality, and wisdom rather than worship of a personal deity.

In MY eyes, and heart, I BELIEVE in Buddhism, because it is NOT reliant on some mythical “god” or “super-being”, but on EACH of us alone. It teaches EACH person to rely upon themselves, but accept help when offered, to take each person they meet, and leave them in a better state of emotional, mental, and sometimes physical being.
They do not “preach”. They TALK to you, and LISTEN to you. They take what YOU say, and ask questions to get YOU to find your own personal answer, rather than dictating WHAT you think or feel or believe.
I HAVE talked to hundreds of religious leaders throughout the world, in over 33 countries, and I have spent time among them, watching, learning, how THEIR religion works. And NEVER have I heard ANY of the say “What is YOUR will to do with the world?”, OTHER than Buddhism.
Now, I’m NOT trying to “convert” anyone. I don’t CARE what your religion is. But I want you to THINK about what YOU personally can do to make YOUR life better, even in the smallest way.
Buddhism is a message, not the bottle it is contained within. It is passed on through singular conversations with people LOOKING for something better.
I hope each and every one of you takes a moment to just say, “TODAY is my peaceful day” and act as if it truly is. THAT is the way of Buddhism.
