President Trump signed two executive orders on August 6 ending birth tourism and protecting the meaning of American citizenship — historic action following the Supreme Court’s landmark ruling in Trump v. Barbara. The orders identify categories of children ineligible for birthright citizenship and direct federal agencies to dismantle birth tourism networks. The administration has now completed 15 consecutive months without releasing a single illegal alien into the country, carried out more than 3 million deportations, filed 88 denaturalization claims, removed illegal aliens from voter rolls in multiple states, and terminated taxpayer benefits for more than 1.4 million illegal immigrants.
On August 7, President Trump convened the largest mining industry roundtable in more than 120 years, announcing over $2 billion in new American mining investments. The flagship deal: Sila Nanotechnologies committed $1.4 billion to build silicon-carbon battery anodes and next-generation lithium-ion cells in California. Sunrise Energy Metals pledged $400 million to develop the first-ever primary scandium mine in the United States. Niron Magnetics committed $150 million to produce rare earth-free permanent magnets in Minnesota, reducing dependence on Chinese rare earth supply chains. Since Inauguration Day, the Trump administration has signed 160 critical minerals deals totaling approximately $40 billion — a generational effort to rebuild the domestic supply chains America ceded to foreign adversaries over decades.
Private Sector Answers the Call: Retailers, Drugmakers, and Energy Providers Cut Prices. Major retailers are responding directly to President Trump’s call to lower prices for American families. Giant Eagle, Walmart, Target, Kroger, Albertsons, Sam’s Club, Meijer, Costco, and H-E-B are collectively cutting prices on thousands of everyday items — with Giant Eagle cutting 10% or more on over 300 products and Kroger announcing its “biggest price cuts in years.” On prescription drugs, Novo Nordisk slashed Ozempic and Wegovy to as low as $199–$350 per month, while Pfizer is cutting prices up to 85% through TrumpRx. Energy utilities including Alliant Energy (5-year rate freeze), NiSource ($1.4 billion returned to consumers), and Entergy ($2 billion returned) are delivering meaningful relief on monthly bills. Ford extended employee pricing nationwide; Stellantis offered 0% financing and 90-day deferred payments.
Declassified: FBI Secretly Probed Trump as Russian Asset After Firing Comey. White House Launches fraud.gov. Newly declassified FBI memos confirm a secret criminal investigation — codenamed “Oxferd Comma” — was opened May 16, 2017, just one week after President Trump fired Director James Comey. The probe alleged the President “may be or has been…involved in activities for or on behalf of the Government of the Russian Federation.” It was opened with the knowledge of Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe and Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein, and closed April 9, 2019 with no charges filed — weeks after Mueller’s probe reached the same conclusion. On August 3, President Trump signed an executive order establishing the President’s Military Spouses Commission — a dedicated body charged with developing policy recommendations on housing, employment, healthcare, education, and childcare for military families. The Commission is chaired by the spouse of the Secretary of War and includes 20 military spouses appointed from the Service Secretaries and Joint Chiefs. On August 6, the President signed a proclamation honoring National Purple Heart Day. U.S. factory activity recorded its fastest growth in four years, with new manufacturing orders expanding for a seventh consecutive month — a streak that was unthinkable just two years ago. American goods exports have topped $200 billion for the fifth consecutive month, putting the U.S. on pace for nearly $2.5 trillion in goods exports this year. President Trump traveled to California and Nevada to tout the economic results firsthand. The White House also welcomed more than 120 Team USA Winter Olympians and Paralympians to the Rose Garden.
