Memo: Team Lunch Ideas for Next Week
From: Marketing Department
Date: October 12

Hi everyone,

Just circling back on our discussion about the upcoming team lunches. Wanted to gather some more thoughts before I place the order. Several people mentioned enjoying the Mediterranean platter we had last month—the hummus and grilled vegetables were
a hit. I was thinking we could do a variation on that, maybe with some different dips like tzatziki or a roasted red pepper spread.

Alternatively, there was a suggestion for a build-your-own sandwich bar. That seems flexible and can accommodate various dietary preferences. We could get a selection of breads—sourdough, whole grain, maybe some gluten-free options—and then an ar
ray of toppings. Roasted turkey, ham, a couple of cheese choices, lots of fresh veggies, and a few condiments. Simple but usually popular.

On a completely different note, I tried a new recipe at home last weekend for a hearty minestrone soup. It’s getting to be that time of year where a warm soup might be nice. We could do soup and salad combos. A couple of large pots of soup, like a
classic tomato basil and a chicken noodle, with a big green salad and some bread rolls on the side. That feels cozy and is relatively easy to manage.

Let me know your preferences by end of day Thursday. Just reply to this thread with your vote: Option 1 (Mediterranean Platter), Option 2 (Sandwich Bar), or Option 3 (Soup Salad). If you have other ideas, feel free to add them. I’m also checking w
ith the cafe on their current availability and pricing for these options.

Thanks,

Jamie

P.S. Remember the department meeting is scheduled for 10 AM Friday in Conference Room B. We’ll be reviewing the Q3 project timelines. Please bring your updated status reports. I’ll have the agenda sent out tomorrow morning. Coffee and pastries wi
ll be available from 9:45. Let’s try to start promptly.

I’ve also been jotting down notes for my garden planning for next spring. The growing season here is relatively short, so I need to think about starting seeds indoors. Tomatoes and peppers are a must, but I’d like to try some new herbs this year.
Maybe lemon basil or French thyme. The local nursery has a catalog coming out next month, so I’ll keep an eye out. My neighbor was talking about their compost setup, which seems like a good project for the fall. Turning kitchen scraps into soil se
ems like a worthwhile effort, even if it takes some time. I should look up some basic guides on getting a bin started. It might be a good weekend project once the leaves are all raked. Speaking of leaves, the maple tree in the backyard is just starti
ng to turn. It’s a brilliant red every year. I should take a photo before the wind takes all the leaves. The light in the afternoon is perfect for it. Well, that’s enough musing for one memo. Back to the task at hand.
