Hi team, just a quick note about the upcoming potluck. I was thinking of bringing that pasta salad I made last summer, the one with the sun-dried tomatoes and fresh basil. Everyone seemed to enjoy it. Alternatively, I could do a batch of those savory
hand pies with mushrooms and thyme. Let me know if there are any dietary preferences I should consider. I remember Mark is vegetarian, so either option should work. I'll need to stop by the market for the basil, as my plant isn't quite big enough ye
t. The weather looks good for Saturday, so hopefully we can eat outside. I'll bring a folding table just in case. My cousin was telling me about a new method for cooking rice that makes it incredibly fluffy every time. You rinse it thoroughly, then s
oak it for about twenty minutes before cooking. She uses a bit less water than the package says. I tried it last week and it was a noticeable improvement. We got into a long conversation about different grain varieties. She's really into heirloom gra
ins now, like forbidden rice and farro. I still have a bag of farro in my pantry I need to use. Maybe a farro salad with roasted vegetables and a lemon vinaigrette would be good for the potluck too. So many options. On a different note, the book club
is meeting next Tuesday. We're discussing that historical fiction novel set in coastal Maine. I'm about halfway through. The descriptions of the fishing village are very vivid, but the plot is moving a bit slowly for my taste. I hope the discussion
picks up the pace. Sarah said she loved the character development, so I'm interested to hear her perspective. I need to remember to return the library books on my desk. They're due on Thursday. The new community garden plots are being assigned this m
onth. I put my name on the list for a small one. I think I'll try to grow some tomatoes, lettuce, and maybe some herbs. It's close to my office, so I can stop by during lunch. I hope the soil is good. They said they were adding compost. My neighbor i
s an experienced gardener and offered some tips on natural pest control. She uses a spray made from garlic and water. I should write that down. The memo about the updated filing procedure is on the shared drive. Please review it before the end of the
week. The main change is the naming convention for the client folders. Use the last name first, then the first initial, then the date code. For example, SmithJ_0425. This should help with sorting. Let me know if you have any questions. I'll be in th
e main office tomorrow morning. The coffee machine in the breakroom seems to be acting up again. It's making a gurgling sound and the coffee is lukewarm. I put in a maintenance request. In the meantime, the one on the second floor is working fine. Th
e weekend plans are still up in the air. Might go for a hike if the trails are dry. The park service said they cleared the fallen trees from the last storm. I need to break in my new hiking boots anyway. They're still a bit stiff. Maybe just a short
walk. Did you finish the quarterly report draft I have a few notes to add to the marketing section. We can touch base on Monday. The conference call with the West Coast team is scheduled for 11 AM our time. Don't forget the time difference. I'll send
out the agenda tomorrow. It's mostly a project timeline review. I think that covers everything for now. The laundry is done, so I should go fold it. Talk to you all soon.
