Memo: Team Lunch Ideas for Next Week

From: Marketing Team Lead
To: Department Staff
Date: October 12

Following up on our brief chat earlier, I wanted to put some lunch ideas in writing for the upcoming week. The consensus in the break room seemed to lean towards something hearty as the weather is turning.

Sarah mentioned that she tried a new recipe for a roasted vegetable and quinoa bowl with a lemon tahini dressing She said it was surprisingly simple to prepare in large batches. The key, she noted, was roasting the sweet potatoes and broccoli ahead of time. That might be a good option for Wednesday.

Michael is still championing his classic chili idea, but a vegetarian version to accommodate everyone. He suggested setting up a topping bar with shredded cheese, green onions, and sour cream. That always feels like a communal meal.

For a lighter option, we could do a build-your-own sandwich and salad bar. We could get some nice ciabatta rolls, sliced turkey and ham, various cheeses, and lots of fresh greens and veggies. It’s flexible and people can make exactly what they want.

On the topic of drinks, remember that the coffee machine was serviced, so it should be working perfectly now. Let’s ensure we have both regular and decaf pods stocked. Also, we need to order more herbal tea options, as the peppermint and chamomile are almost gone.

Jenny from accounting brought in some amazing homemade oatmeal cookies last Friday. I’ve asked her for the recipe. It uses rolled oats, dark chocolate chunks, and a hint of cinnamon. If we decide to do the chili day, those cookies might be a perfect dessert pairing.

Please reply to this thread with your preference by end of day tomorrow so I can place the catering order. Also, if anyone has any dietary restrictions I haven’t accounted for, please let me know directly.

In other news, the printer on the third floor is finally fixed after that paper jam incident. The IT memo said to power cycle it if it seems slow to respond. The supply closet has been restocked with notepads and pens, feel free to take what you need.

Looking forward to a productive week ahead. The project timeline is on track, and the client feedback from the quarterly review was largely positive. We’ll discuss the minor action items in our stand-up on Monday morning. Have a good weekend, everyone.

Best regards,
The Team Lead

P.S. Don’t forget to water the office plants if you’re the last one out on Friday. The fern in the corner by the window is looking a bit dry.
