Memo: Team Lunch Ideas for Next Week

Hi everyone,

Following up on our brief chat earlier, I wanted to put together some notes about potential lunch options for the upcoming week. The weather is supposed to be quite pleasant, so perhaps we could consider something that feels a bit like a picnic, even
if we're indoors in the conference room. Sarah had mentioned a fondness for Mediterranean flavors last time, so maybe a spread with hummus, pita bread, grilled vegetables, and some falafel could be a good direction. I recall Mark saying he tried a n
ew recipe for a quinoa salad with roasted chickpeas and a lemon herb dressing that was quite good. He mentioned it was easy to make in a large batch.

On a different note, I was reading about seasonal produce and it seems like asparagus is still in good shape. A simple roasted asparagus side could work with many mains. For a heartier option, a slow-cooked pulled chicken with a mild barbecue sauce o
r a tangy citrus marinade is usually a crowd-pleaser and can be prepared ahead of time. We should also remember to have a solid vegetarian main. That lentil and sweet potato shepherd's pie we had a few months ago got positive reviews, so maybe we cou
ld revisit that idea or something similar with black beans and rice.

Regarding logistics, if we decide to order in, the new place on 5th Street has a good group menu. Their sandwich platters are reportedly fresh and they offer a variety of bread options, including gluten-free. Alternatively, if we want to do a potluck
style, we could assign categories. I can take care of organizing a sign-up sheet so we don't end up with five desserts and no main course, which happened that one time with the cookie overload. Janet's famous spinach and artichoke dip is always requ
ested, so I'll check with her on availability.

Let's also think about beverages. Iced tea is usually safe, but we could also do infused water with cucumber and mint or lemon and ginger. Coffee will, of course, be available as usual. For cleanup, if everyone can just take their own plates to the k
itchen, that would help the process move faster. I'll send a follow-up email tomorrow to collect preferences and finalize the plan. The main goal is to have a relaxed meal together that doesn't take too much time out of the workday but still feels li
ke a nice break.

Thanks,
