I will be creating a whole series of articles about the reasons WHY, and what tortorous hoops, both governmental and personal, I had to go through to FINALLY achieve my goal..
For now, I’m sitting at 41,000 feet above South Korea on my way to Bangkok, and once there, a good friend will pick me up at the airport, and take me to my new (temporary) home… It’ll be temporary, because I just needed time “in-country” to figure out where exactly I want to live permanently, and to find the right condo/apt/whichever.
First lesson in moving to Thailand. Foreign citizens cannot OWN land or property in Thailand. Therefore I will be renting preferably a condo, and on the good side of that, it leaves me able to change cities, communities, etc, within Thailand.
Now, for those of who wondering WHY Thailand… LOL 50 years ago, I visited Thailand MANY times, while in the US Navy, and loved the culture, the people, and the HISTORY of the Thai country. I’ve spent a big part of my life going to other countries, and honestly? The two factors that convinced me that Thailand was the right choice were affordability, since I’m on social security now after retiring, and politics. The politics because YES, Thailand is governed by a King (previously te Queen Mother Sirikit, but the Queen Mother passed away Oct 24, 2025. The country is still mourning their loss.
But the politics are QUITE simple compared to the European countries AND America. Now, that’s NOT to say that I will be forsaking my countrymen in America, not at all! Most of my work is done through the internet, and Thailand has a robust internet system, too!
And no, for all those MAGA folks who will claim “Well, guess you wanted a KING after all”, NO, America doesn’t NEED or WANT a king, and we DID fight against one in the beginning, and are being forced to re-hash the entire Declaration of Independence ALL OVER AGAIN with Trump in the red coats this time!
But back to MY sojourn.. For obvious reasons, I won’t be disclosing my ACTUAL location within Thailand, but I WILL be continuing to report on the internals of Thailand, and the wonderful and colorful life that is Thai…
SO please, stay tuned, I WILL be, after catching up on some much-needed sleep after 22 hours of flights here, getting BACK to reporting on the misrepresentations of the Fascist Regime in America, as well as inter-mixing those with fun, colorful, beautiful spectacles as I embrace and adventure in my new “country of choice”.

Foreign citizens cannot OWN land or property in Thailand. I’ve spent a big part of my life going to other countries, and honestly? The two factors that convinced me that Thailand was the right choice were affordability, since I’m on social security now after retiring, and politics. The politics because YES, Thailand is governed by a King (previously te Queen Mother Sirikit, but the Queen Mother passed away Oct 24, 2025. The country is still mourning their loss.</p><p style="margin: 0 0 20px 0;color: rgb(54,55,55);line-height: 26px;font-size: 16px;">But the politics are QUITE simple compared to the European countries AND America. Now, that’s NOT to say that I will be forsaking my countrymen in America, not at all!
