Planning the weekly team lunch has become a fun ritual. Sarah suggested a Mediterranean theme this time. She mentioned a recipe for a simple lemon herb orzo salad with feta and olives. Mark chimed in that he could bring his famous
grilled chicken skewers, marinated in yogurt and spices. I offered to handle the dessert, maybe a batch of honey and walnut baklava bites from that blog I follow. We need to confirm who’s bringing drinks. I think sparkling water and some iced tea
would pair well. The meeting room booking is for Thursday at noon. I’ll send a calendar reminder tomorrow.
On a different note, I finally organized the pantry over the weekend. Found three half-used bags of brown sugar, which I consolidated. I need to remember to buy more vanilla extract and cinnamon next trip. Tried a new recipe for b
anana oat muffins, using up some overripe fruit. They turned out quite well, not too sweet. My neighbor liked them, so I gave her a few. She returned the container with a slice of her zucchini bread, which was delicious. We chatted about gardening fo
r a bit. She’s planting tomatoes and basil. I might try some herbs in pots on my balcony. Rosemary and thyme are supposed to be easy to grow.
The book club is discussing historical fiction next month. I haven’t started the selection yet. It’s about a librarian in post-war London. I should download the audiobook for my commute. Jessica said she’ll host and provide
coffee and pastries. I can bring some fruit or cheese. Need to check my schedule to make sure I can attend. The last discussion was really engaging, even if we all had different opinions on the protagonist’s choices. It’s interesting how a story
can spark such varied interpretations.
The weather has been unusually mild. Good for long walks in the evening. Saw some early daffodils blooming in the park. The days are getting noticeably longer, which is a welcome change. I need to dig out my lighter jacket from th
e back of the closet. Also, a reminder to schedule the annual air conditioning check before it gets too busy. The company sent a postcard about their spring maintenance special. I’ll call them next week.
Working on the quarterly report draft. The data from the first section looks promising. I’ll have to compile the charts and write the executive summary. The team sync is set for Friday morning to review the initial findings. I h
ope the presentation software update doesn’t cause any formatting issues like last time. I’ll do a test run the day before. Need to follow up with finance on the final numbers for the appendix. All in all, it should be a straightforward update fo
r the stakeholders. The goal is clarity and actionable insights.
Thinking about rearranging the living room furniture. The current layout feels a bit cramped when we have guests. Maybe moving the bookshelf to the other wall and shifting the sofa would open up the space. I’ll measure everythin
g first. It’s a project for a rainy Saturday. I should also finally hang those framed prints that have been leaning against the wall for months. Found a good tutorial online about using the right anchors for the plaster walls. One step at a time.
