Hey there, so I finally got around to cleaning out the garage last weekend. You would not believe the amount of stuff I had piled up in the corner near the old workbench.<br>
There were at least three bins of tangled extension cords and a box of random lightbulbs that I don't even remember buying.<br>
I ended up spending most of Saturday just sorting through old magazines and half-finished DIY projects that I definitely overestimated at the time.<br>
The funniest part was finding that bread maker I swore I would use every week. I think I used it twice total.<br>
Anyway, after a full afternoon of hauling things out to the curb, I treated myself to a long walk around the neighborhood.<br>
The weather was perfect, not too hot and not too cold. I passed by that little corner park with the big oak tree and saw a couple of kids flying a kite.<br>
It reminded me of when I was younger and my dad would take me out on windy days with this huge red kite that always seemed to end up in a tree.<br>
We would spend forever trying to untangle the string while he laughed and told me to hold still.<br>
I'm thinking about doing the same kind of cleanup in the basement before it gets too cold outside.<br>
I know it is going to be another full weekend but honestly it feels good to clear out the old stuff and make space for new things.<br>
Maybe I'll even find that old board game collection I used to love. Hope you had a good weekend too and got some time to relax.

So I was talking to my neighbor the other day about our shared fence and how the ivy keeps creeping over from their side.<br>
They mentioned they were thinking about putting in some raised garden beds next spring and I told them I might do the same.<br>
We started swapping notes on which vegetables grew best in this area and they swear by cherry tomatoes and basil.<br>
I had a little herb garden a few years ago but the rabbits got to most of it before I could even harvest anything.<br>
The neighbor suggested putting up a small wire mesh around the edges which honestly never occurred to me at the time.<br>
We also talked about maybe splitting the cost of a compost bin since we both generate enough kitchen scraps to make it worthwhile.<br>
It got me thinking about how nice it is to actually know the people you live next to, even if it is just for casual chats over the fence.<br>
I remember growing up my parents knew every single family on our street and we would have block parties every summer.<br>
Nowadays it seems like people keep to themselves more, so it felt good to have a real conversation.<br>
I think I might actually plant some zucchini next year along with the herbs and see how it goes.<br>
Worst case scenario the rabbits get fat and happy and I try again the following spring.<br>
